The Vineyards – The Farmers
The farmers are the true guardians of the land their love and care passed down through generations. They rise early, work tirelessly from dawn to dusk, through heat and rain, summer and winter. Some years are easy, others are a challenge, yet their dedication never wavers.
We work with farmers who share our philosophy: a deep respect for the land, a passion for quality, and a commitment to organic and biodynamic practices. Many of them care for their vineyards as a labor of love, alongside their other work a tradition that reflects the Cypriot way.
Nayia Winery does not own vineyards, and this is intentional. By sourcing grapes from carefully selected growers across the Pafos district, we are able to work with the best fruit each year, capturing the unique character of each vintage. The region’s diversity of altitudes, soils, and microclimates gives our wines a richness and complexity that a single estate could never achieve.
Our focus is on Cyprus’ indigenous varieties, especially Xynisteri and the legendary Maratheftiko a grape that is as rewarding as it is challenging, the true heart of the island’s wines. Alongside these, we thoughtfully incorporate Mataro and Merlot to support the red blend, adding balance, structure, and finesse where needed.
In this way, Nayia Winery is not tied to a single vineyard but is connected to the wider landscape of Pafos a mosaic of growers, soils, and microclimates, all contributing to the wines we produce. Every bottle tells the story of the people, the land, and the care that goes into every grape.
