THEY DECIDE OUR FUTURE
Subject: Examination of Building Permit for Winery in Armou, Paphos
TO: Ministry of Interior
Dear Sirs and Madams,
Ms. L.L., Paphos Planning Officer (Director) Surveyor Engineer, together with Ms. G.S., Fixed-Term Technical Engineer Surveyor Engineer, after an on-site visit to our plot under examination, found that there is an unfinished construction (frame and masonry) within our plot.
In a meeting I had with Ms. G.S., she accused me of building without a permit and that this is illegal, but they would not report me (they would do me a favor!).
I informed her that they were examining the wrong plot and she told me not to lie to them. They insisted that the house in question is within my plot. I stopped insisting that our plot only has grass so as not to upset her further. The meeting continued with suggestions for changes to the plans, which we made.
When the on-site visit by the planning officials took place, landmarks had already been placed around the perimeter of the plot and four landmarks indicating the location of the winery.
Normally, I would have been reported to the Community Council, the Prefect, the Contractors' Council and ETEK, and if all this is true, my civil engineering license would have been revoked by ETEK (but they did me a favor!).
All according to a meeting we had with Ms. G.S.
Once again, I request an on-site visit together with the relevant authorities to show me the house that I am building without a permit.
Sincerely,
P.S. A building permit has been issued for a house on the neighboring agricultural plot.
